On the 16th December 2014, Marex developed and became certified by two independent bodies, the American Bureau of Shipping (A.B.S.) and the General Applications of Technology & Sciences (G.A.T.S. Ltd) in its ninth wet welding procedure. This procedure was conducted in the company's facilities at in indoor 40m3 Water Tank and was performed in the presence of the two independent body representatives and two of Motor Oil's inspectors. The procedure was about Lap Welding between a six inch (6") pipe and a five inch (5") pipe at 5F welding position according to American Welding Society, AWS D3.6M:2010, Class A Type of Welds.
